Editorial Guidelines
Standards for content published through Nova Presswire.
1. Content Standards
All press releases submitted to Nova Presswire must be factual, newsworthy, and professionally written. Content must represent legitimate news, product announcements, company updates, or industry developments. We do not accept content that is misleading, defamatory, or designed solely for search engine manipulation. Your content should be ready for launch into the media cosmos - polished, accurate, and worthy of the audience it will reach.
2. Formatting Requirements
Press releases must include a clear headline (max 200 characters), an optional subheadline, a dateline (city, state/country), and a well-structured body. The body should follow the inverted pyramid format: lead with the most important information, followed by supporting details, background context, and a company boilerplate. Include contact information for media inquiries. Think of your headline as the beacon that guides readers to your story.
3. Prohibited Content
Nova Presswire does not distribute content that promotes illegal activities, contains hate speech or discrimination, makes unsubstantiated medical or financial claims, includes explicit or adult material, infringes on intellectual property rights, or constitutes spam or purely promotional material without newsworthy substance. Content that violates these standards will be rejected from our launchpad and will not enter the media orbit.
4. Accuracy and Attribution
All claims, statistics, and quotes must be accurate and properly attributed. If your release includes data, cite the source. If it includes quotes, ensure they are authorized by the quoted individual. Nova Presswire reserves the right to request verification of claims before clearing content for distribution. In the media cosmos, credibility is your most valuable fuel.
5. Images and Multimedia
Feature images must be high-quality, relevant to the content, and properly licensed. You must have the rights to distribute any images or multimedia included with your release. Images should include descriptive alt text for accessibility. We accept JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats. Low-resolution, watermarked, or stock images with visible attribution requirements will be flagged during editorial review.
6. Editorial Review Process
Every press release passes through our editorial mission control before distribution. Our team reviews content for compliance with these guidelines, grammatical accuracy, formatting standards, and overall quality. Reviews are typically completed within 24 hours. If revisions are needed, you will receive specific feedback and can resubmit. Pro plan members receive priority review with faster turnaround.
7. Industry Classification
All releases must be assigned an industry category from our IPTC-standard taxonomy. Accurate classification ensures your release reaches the right audience sectors in the media cosmos. Misclassification may result in your release being reclassified by our editorial team. Available categories include Technology, Healthcare, Finance, Real Estate, Manufacturing, Retail, Energy, Media & Entertainment, and more.
8. Revision and Retraction Policy
Once published, press releases can be updated with corrections or additional information. Significant corrections will be noted in the release. Retractions are processed within 24 hours of request. Note that once content has been syndicated through our distribution network, we cannot guarantee removal from all third-party platforms. Like a signal broadcast into space, once it's launched, full recall is not always possible.
9. Compliance
Content must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to SEC disclosure requirements for publicly traded companies, FTC guidelines for endorsements and testimonials, GDPR for content involving EU data subjects, and industry-specific regulations. Nova Presswire is not responsible for ensuring your content meets regulatory requirements, but we reserve the right to reject content that appears non-compliant.
